Fume review by Toxic Pete
'A History Of Things To Come' is rampant hardcore metal. A heavin' metal monster of nightmare-ish vocal contortions and ball-rending riffs. Fume attack the aural senses, cut, thrust and run and leave you reelin' in the aftermath on the onslaught.

Fume seem to have totally perfected their artform; they flip in and out of the controlled mayhem and manic riffs into distinctly sensitive dark interludes that caress the tattered nerves momentarily before returning to their womd (weapon of mass destruction). The songs are superbly structured and performed with a gutsy unity; tight and sympathetically gruesome!

'A History Of Things To Come' typifies the better end of this hardcore genre. Fume nail it down solid. Although these guys (and there's six of 'em) stick pretty much within the genre they at least venture out occasionally to 'bring it down' and show initiative and musical guile - 'Instrumental' (which is unsurprisingly an instrumental) demonstrates their subtle side.

With 'A History Of Things To Come', Fume will find plenty of 'takers' - this is a damn good release and deserves to do well.
